The UFC just announced a flyweight championship bout between Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga to take place on the TUF 17 Finale. This will mark the first time a UFC belt has been up for grabs at an Ultimate Fighter Finale.
If you don’t know who John Moraga is, he is a 13-1 submission specialist with 6 of his 13 wins by submission. He is looking to extend his 7 fight win streak (2 inside the UFC) against an always game champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson. This makes for a quick turnaround for Johnson, who just defended his belt for the first time 2 weeks ago at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Dodson.
Other fights on the card include Travis Browne (13-1) against Gabriel Gonzaga (14-6). Browne is trying to rebound from the first loss in his career, while Gonzaga is looking to extend a three fight win streak.
Also, the second ever women’s fight in the UFC will see Meisha Tate (13-3) taking on Cat Zingano (7-0).
Two featherweight fights round out the card with Bart Palaszewski (36-16) and Cole Miller (18-7) both trying to avoid 3 straight losses, and Daniel Pineda (17-9) against TUF 15 contestant Justin Lawrnece (4-1).
The event will take place on April 13 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.Tags: bart palaszewski UFC, Cat Zingano UFC, Cole Miller UFC, Daniel Pineda UFC, John Moraga UFC, Justin Lawrence UFC, Meisha Tate UFC, Moraga Johnson UFC, TUF 17, TUF 17 card, UFC Flyweight Championship, UFC TUF 17 title
