UFC Fight Night Dublin Results: Park TKOs Kotani, Calls Out Diego Sanchez

By bjpenndotcom - July 19, 2014

Norman Parke kept the electricity flowing throughout the arena in Ireland with his impressive victory over Naoyuki Kotani. This lightweight bout kicked off the main-card of “UFC Fight Night: Dublin” which aired exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.

Parke showcased his skills throughout the first round and weathered an early storm of Kotani’s takedown attempts. Parke was able to get Kotani’s back on the mat multiple times where he would capitalize on his ground-and-pound skills. Parke smelled blood at the end of the first round, but Kotani was covering up just enough to get saved by the bell. Kotani had ended up on his back again in the middle of the second round, but he was not lucky enough to escape Parke’s flurry of strikes.

Kotani’s only form of defense was, once again, putting his forearms in front of his face. The referee warned him he needed to improve positioning or fight back, but Kotani didn’t budge. Parke was throwing everything he could at him from the top and the referee had finally seen enough.

After the bout, Parke called out Diego Sanchez.
