No jail time for Guillard

By Chris Taylor - June 28, 2013

Melvin Guillard (30-12-2 MMA, 11-8 UFC) has lost four of his past five fights in the octagon, but not all of his troubles have been in the cage.

It was recently revealed that Guillard was facing assault charges as well as a failure to appear in court charge in New Mexico. However, according to Melissa Segura of SI.com, the “Young Assassin” has cleared things up and is being sentenced to probation:

UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard avoids jail time; sentenced to supervised probation through June 2015, community service and court fees.

Good news for Guillard fans as the sentence he received was pretty mild, though he will need to keep his nose clean throughout the length of his probation.

Melvin is scheduled to face Season 6 “TUF” winner Mac Danzig (21-10-1 MMA, 5-6) at next month’s UFC on FOX 8 event in Seattle.
