Lyoto Machida On The Time He Was Dana White’s Hitman

By BJPENN.COM News - February 25, 2014

Recently UFC President Dana White discussed the time Machida beat Tito Ortiz inside the Octagon.

It was during that discussion that White admitted to giving Lyoto a special bonus after the win due to White’s special dislike for Ortiz and his happiness at the defeat.

The move made Machida feel like a hit man, at least that’s what he told MMAFighting.com:

“He really did that (pay a bonus after the Tito Fight) I felt like a hitman getting money from the boss, but it was cool. I won’t tell you how much he paid me. but it was good money… (White) said I was dominating the fight and out of a sudden (Ortiz) got me on that triangle. He said ‘shitt, I can’t believe it.’ He went crazy, but then I got out of it. So I guess he gave me a bonus because he was scared of that triangle (laughs).”
