Liddell On Jon Jones Beef: It’s Nothing Personal

By BJPENN.COM News - June 23, 2014

UFC legend Chuck Liddell sounded off a few months ago prior to his protege Glover Teixeira fighting Jon Jones, and said that he believed Glover would knockout or submit Jones. Jones fired back with an offer to a superfight with the Iceman, however Liddell laughed off the offer. Last week Jones and Liddell ended up at the same event promoting the new EA Sports UFC game. Liddell joined Fox Sports to explain that it wasn’t awkward, and that he has nothing against Jones.

“It’s nothing personal. That’s my opinion, that’s his opinion. Opinions don’t change. I’m not going to change my opinion, but it doesn’t have to be personal. I don’t get personal with guys.”

“Guys get mad at me. It’s nothing personal. I like you, you’re a nice person. It doesn’t mean if I say you have a weak punch, I don’t like you as a person. It’s just my opinion. If you don’t like it, I don’t care. Actually, I’ve put my time in. I deserve an opinion. I’ve got the right to my opinion.”
