Frankie Edgar

Former UFC lightweight champion and current featherweight Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar is tired of waiting for that elusive title shot and now wants to fight before the years over, no matter who it is.

The former champ talked to MMAJunkie and told them he wants to stay active instead of sitting on the sidelines watching everyone else fight.

“I’m looking to fight before the year is out. I’m looking to do my thing and stay active.”

Edgar has won four straight in the featherweight division defeating Cub Swanson, Charles Oliveira, BJ Penn and Urijah Faber. There’s no doubt that’s a streak worthy of a shot at the belt. Unfortunately there’s a guy named Conor McGregor in the division.

McGregor basically hopped over Edgar and got the shot against Aldo, before he pulled out and McGregor took on Chad Mendes instead. That was another instance of Edgar getting passed over. Now, he just wants to fight.

“Whoever my manager and the UFC come up with, I’m down.”
