UFC 199 Results: Beneil Dariush KO’s James Vick

June 4, 2016 6:29 pm by Chris Taylor

A lightweight bout between Beneil Dariush (13-2 MMA) and James Vick (9-1 MMA) took place during tonight’s UFC 199 prelims in Los Angeles.

Round one started off with two nasty eye pokes from the fingers of James Vick. However, after some breaks in the action things quickly got under way. Beneil Dariush was able to find his range and land some thunderous strikes on his highly-touted opponent. Dariush dropped James with a right hand and followed up with some ground and pound. Vick absorbed tons of punishment but did not back down an inch. He got back to his feet but Beneil stayed right on him. The fighters battled in the clinch for almost a minute exchanging some close range strikes. When they finally broke Dariush rocked Vick with some big punches and then delivered an incredible left hand that floored the previously undefeated fighter.
