Anderson Silva’s Goal? Retire With His Unbeaten Streak Says The Champ | UFC NEWS

“I believe I have more agility, more speed at this weight. I don’t know about the power but I do believe I am more agile. Due to the short amount of time to train, it is easier to make 205 rather than to try to cut down to 185.
You have to respect Stephan Bonnar. He is the reason why MMA and the UFC are where they are today. He has done a lot for the sport. He has to be respected and given a lot of credit.
It’s an individual sport so you always have to be improving and training at all times. I think that is the goal for every athlete and it is no different for me. I hope to continue my win streak and I can finish my career undefeated in the UFC.”
UFC middleweight champion and pound-for-pound king of the sport, Anderson Silva, tells the UFC media team that he wants to retire with his unbeaten streak alive and well.

The UFC had better hope Silva decides to fight for a few more years. They are going to be struggling to find another fighter to market like Anderson Silva. I don’t think Bisping or whoever else as the 185 king is going to be able to sell like Silva.
One thing I don’t like about Silva is that he tries to make his opponent sound so much better than they really are. Just so that when he beats them the win seems to weigh so much more yet he won’t fight elite guys at 205..
I disagree with that. He fought Forrest. Yeah he made Forrest look like a Noob but I don’t think he dodges Elite fighters. If he fought anyone Elite at 205 and was to win that put him at #1 contender status almost immediately, which I don’t think he’s looking at double belting at this time. 205 isn’t deep anymore since Jones makes everyone look sad and they all keep getting injured. I also think he talks people up out of respect not to make himself look better.
Yet he won’t fight Jon Jones. He doesn’t even fight top 10 guys at 205. Forrest is a chump, so is Bonnar. Have him fight Rua, Henderson (205), Rampage, Machida, Rashad, or Gustafson. Than that would be impressive. The middleweight division is clean out for the exception of Bisping and Weidman.
i think you should respect silva. the only reason he went up to 205 was to save an event, something most fighters wouldn’t do. jones didn’t take a fight in his own weight class….
JOEDO you must be as smart as a peice of wood. Anderson beat Henderson already. forest beat rua. and anderson made forest look like a little school boy. A.S would never fight machida cause they are friends.. and do you really think rampage would have a chance? LOL im a rampage fan and i know he wouldnt have a chance in hell, btw forest beat rampage aswell.. rashad is too chicken to drop to 185 and face andy.
Rashad is anything but chicken, thats all he wants to do now. I’d say more intolerant and lazy, doesn’t want to go through the hard times of fighting his way to a shot with AS, and fair enough. He might think Silva will retire at any moment or something, I would want to fight him ASAP as well.
Except Anderson Silva ALREADY beat Dan Henderson who was the #1 contender some time ago. Jesus, some people will never give Anderson credit until he blasts an opponent with a Kamehameha, saves the world from aliens or some shit.
Forrest was a 205 contender when Silva fought him…..He took Henderson’s H-bomb and choked him out. wtf you talking about?
Gustafsson? Dude….smh
Some people are just idiots. What do you want him to say? Eveveryone around me is garbage. Really stop talking for a while please. Also I keep telling people this Stephan Bonnar fight is a difficult matchup. More difficult than what people are thinking. He has excellent jiu jitsu (more submission wins than Silva), he has never been stopped, and he will fight like a dog, which can push Silva pass his limits.
Silva has been on a rampage since the first sonnen fight and he is going to be coming even harder at this weight in his home town he will be the first to knockout a very game Bonnar but Bonnar hasn’t fought a striker like silva.. The closet are rashad and JJ but they don’t have the same level of striking.
i really feel that the only chance stephn has is a brawl or a lucky sub/ko. silva will stick and move until stephan cant handle it anymore. id love to see an upset but im not expecting one.
