The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to movie theaters nationwide on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. PT as NCM Fathom Events and UFC bring UFC 167: ST-PIERRE vs. HENDRICKS to the big screen. Fight fans will get a front-row view of all the pulse-pounding action when longest-reigning champion in the UFC, welterweight king Georges St-Pierre (also known as “GSP”), returns to the Octagon to face No. 1 contender Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks. GSP will take on his most dangerous challenger to date in the sledge-hammer handed Hendricks. Broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, audiences will witness all the excitement as the undisputed champion in the UFC welterweight division is determined during the UFC’s 20th anniversary event.

So if guys have to fight, let’s fight.” Famed Brazilian trainer and Lyoto Machida cornerman, Rafael Cordeiro, believes that Lyoto should be granted a title shot if he defeats Mark Munoz later this month.

A featherweight bout that was slated to feature Rodrigo Damm (11-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC) taking on Hacran Dias (21-2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has been scratched from the upcoming ‘UFC Fight Night 29’ event in Brazil. According to a report from MMA Fighting, Rodrigo Damm was suffering from kidney stones during his weight cut and was forced off the card.

“I figure that I’ll get down to 205 faster than Daniel. If I beat Daniel, wouldn’t I get a title shot? My goal is just to beat Daniel. My goal is to fight the champ. Right now, Daniel is in front of me, so I’m trying to beat him…in everything he does. I’m hearing that if he beats me, he’s supposed to get a title shot at 205; he gets to jump to the front of the line. I’m all about jumping to the front of the line. My mode of thinking is that he’s number 2, and if I beat him, my next step after that would be to fight for the belt, in either division.” Could it be that the heavyweight divisions big man is slimming down for a real shot at the UFC’s light-heavyweight division?
