UFC President Dana White admitted recently that he prematurely announced the Alexander Gustafsson versus ‘Lil Nog’ bout, which is why they had to cancel it and give Gustafsson Jimi Manuwa instead. As a result the younger Noguiera brother received a hefty public backlash from Chael Sonnen, who stated, ‘He fight’s less than Ghandi,’ among several other insults.

“(Thatch was impressive), especially how good he looked with who he was fighting, and what he did to who he was fighting,” White told a small group of reporters following the UFC Fight Night 32 post-event news conference. “I have a lot of respect for Thiago. (Thatch) hunted him down and stayed right in his face. Paulo Thiago knocked out (Josh) Koscheck and brutalized Mike Swick, and this kid stays right in his face and keeps going after him. I like this kid… Stud, Fucking Stud.” Two fights into his UFC career and Brandon Thatch already has the full undivided attention of the UFC President Dana White.

We usually hear from Vitor Belfort after UFC events when he interrupts the post fight press conference by calling Dana White and asking for a title shot. Considering he was sitting right next to the UFC President, there were no interruptions tonight. As expected, Belfort expressed his confidence that he is next in line for the UFC Middleweight Championship. “The Phenom” put on the performance of a lifetime tonight in front of a sold out crowd at the Goiânia Arena. Belfort made history when he became the first fighter to knock Dan Henderson out, and all he needed was a minute and change. Henderson connected with a big right hand, but was counter-punched and dropped with a hook from Belfort. After making it back to his feet, Henderson ate a head kick that sent him crashing to the mat. With his eyes rolled in the back of his head, it was clear the fight was over.

Rony Jason and Jeremy Stephens opened up the main-card on Fox Sports 1 with a fight that ended in a highlight-reel knockout. Unfortunatly for Jason, he was the one getting knocked out. To make things worse, it was in front of his hometown crowd. Rumors were flying around during the event that Rony Jason had been transported to the hospital, but not because of the devastating knockout kick. When asked what happened, UFC President Dana White answered honestly.

Submission of the Night: Adriano Martins Adriano Martins almost stopped the fight in the first round when he was close to locking in a kimura, but Daron Cruickshank managed to escape danger. Daron Cruickshank ate a shot earlier in the fight that put him on his bum, so his striking game was very cautious in the second round. Martins was able to secure a takedown and he came close to locking in a kimura. Cruickshank defended intelligently, only to let Martins get off another kimura attempt. This would be the last; Martins won the fight in the second round with a straight kimura.
