In the welterweight division, Chirs Clements squared off against Vik Grujic in the third fight of the night in Sydney. This fight started off fast. Both fighters clinched up early and it was Grujic who managed to get the first takedown. The advantage didn’t last long with Clements getting to his feet shortly after. Grujic kept Clements against the cage, switching between throwing short punches and dropping for a takedown. They eventually broke and it was Clements who landed a huge punch that brought the “oh’s” from the Australian crowd.

The middleweights were up in the second bout of the night in Sydney. American Luke Zachrich entered the cage to fight the undefeated Australian, Dan Kelly. The Columbus, OH fighter, Zachrich, refused to touch gloves when the fight started, which brought boo’s from the Australian crowd.

“He always tries to go for the ground and pound, but I trained for every situation. He may try to lay and pray, hold me on the ground, but I have trained this with my team. We have a lot of great fighters at the gym, I had a sparring (partner) who fights exactly like St. Preux. I don’t believe anyone will be in advantage on Saturday night because of the opponent’s change, since he also had his opponent changed twice. I had one week to adapt.” “We never considered not taking the fight. It’s not the UFC’s fault and fans want to see a fight. It happens. Injuries are inevitable. I tried to change my training, adapt myself, and I believe I’ll be ready for him.”
