Ticket prices revealed for 'UFC 197: McGregor vs. dos Anjos'

Since the UFC announced that Conor McGregor would be going up to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 197, and that Holly Holm would be defending her UFC women’s bantamweight championship against Miesha Tate, fans have been anxiously awaiting ticket information. MMAJunkie is reporting that the tickets will go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on January 20th, UFC.com e-newsletter subscribers on January 21st, and the general public on January 22nd.

Ahead of Cris Cyborg’s Invicta FC 15 fight against Daria Ibragimova tonight, there has been much speculation as to whether or not she would still be open to dropping to 135 for a potential superfight with Ronda Rousey. While the hype behind a potential Rousey vs. Cyborg fight has certainly dwindled since Rousey lost to Holly Holm at UFC 193, Holm has since stated that she would be open to fighting Cyborg.

Faber sending TAM teammate to coach Dillashaw against Cruz

While Urijah Faber and TJ Dillashaw certainly aren’t on the best of terms following Dillashaw’s departure from Team Alpha Male, it’s extremely surprising that Faber is sending someone from Team Alpha Male to assist Dillashaw’s cornermen. Justin Buchholz will be in Dillashaw’s corner along with Duane Ludwig and several coaches from the Elevation Fight Team. However the reason Faber is sending Buchholz is because he wants to ensure Dillashaw retains the belt, so he can take it from him.

News broke late Friday evening that Ronda Rousy and Tina Fey would be starring in a ‘Do Nothing Bitches’ movie inspired by Ronda Rousey’s popular catchphrase. According to Variety, Rousey will play a “no-nonsense” instructor who gives pampered wives a rude awakening. In addition, the script will be written and produced by Tina Fey.

While UFC President Dana White is on board with Conor McGregor’s plan to move up to lightweight and fight Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight championship in order to simultaneously hold the UFC featherweight and lightweight championship belts, Jose Aldo’s coach thinks McGregor should vacate the featherweight strap. McGregor will fight Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197 on March 5th, and then will likely defend his UFC featherweight championship at UFC 200, most likely against Frankie Edgar, however Andre Pederneiras thinks Aldo and Edgar should fight for an interim featherweight championship in the meantime.

UFC 195 was a rough enough night for Diego Brandao to begin with. The featherweight appeared to be closing in on what would have surely been a decision victory over Brian Ortega, however a late third round submission from Ortega had Brandao tapping out.

McGregor looks to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two championship belts simultaneously. “The Notorious” is set to fight lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC 197 on March 5. McGregor posted a video of him in the gym working on some kicking drills in preparation for his fight with dos Anjos.
