Bellator Boss Happy With TRT Ban

BJPENN.COM News - March 1, 2014

“I’ve had the same opinion on [TRT], and the same stance on it since the first time I asked the question. I just never felt that the controls were tight enough to be able to allow it to occur. When guys use it it’s an unfair advantage. If you’re going to equalize the playing field, the best way to equalize the playing field is to eliminate it in totality. I’ve never wavered on that…it is an unfair advantage when misused. Anybody who’s in this sport recognizes that people misuse it… It’s unfortunate for guys who have a legitimate physical defect. But they’re on the side of doing it right for everybody, and the vast majority are going to be able fight clean now and not have to fight against somebody who isn’t [on TRT]. So I think it’s a good move.” During his Bellator 110 post-fight media scrum, Bellator boss Bjorn Rebney, touched on Nevada’s recent ban of TRT.

Rampage: 'I signed with Bellator to beat the sh** out of King Mo'

BJPENN.COM News - March 1, 2014

“I knew I was never going to fight [Lawal] in any of the other organizations I was with, because I knew he wasn’t going to come. I think I can be 100-percent honest with you when I say that half the reason I signed with Bellator was because I was signing with Viacom — not just an MMA organization, but a whole big company — and that I could finally get a chance to beat the s–t out of ‘King Mo’ for all the stuff he said. But I forgive him.” In a recent interview with sherdog.com, former UFC light-heavyeight champ, ‘Rampage’ Jackson, explained his reasoning behind leaving the UFC for Bellator.

“The Nevada State Athletic Commission recently altered its policy and no longer will permit testosterone use exemptions and will not permit a TRT program. King Mo: 'Staph Infection Almost Killed Me'

BJPENN.COM News - February 27, 2014

“It almost killed me. I don’t explain it to people. I downplayed the whole thing. They didn’t know how bad it was. People would text me, and I was in the hospital texting them back like nothing happened. I battled back from it. It messed my body up. My body is still getting healthy from that. “I’m almost there. I feel it now when I’m training with American Top Team doing strength training. I feel it, I feel my body coming back. It’s a good feeling. I think it’s a matter of time, because I’ve still got a few things screwed up with my blood and my red blood count was pretty bad, so now they’re filling me back up. I’ve got to take vitamin C, iron. I’m almost there, man. I’m almost back to where I need to be.” Approximately two-years ago, ‘King Mo’ came down with a sever bout of Staph. It hospitalized him, forced him on the MMA sidelines and according to his recent testimony to MMAFighting.com, he’s still recovering from it.

VIDEO | Serra Says If He Had Hughes Job GSP Would Still Be Fighting

BJPENN.COM News - February 27, 2014

“The funny thing is, I’m the victim here. There’s a girl on Twitter talking about a grappling match against Hughes. Then Hughes mentioned it. I said if we’re going to do it, I want to hit the guy. Then he says I have to lose weight. Look, I’m a ninja turtle, I’m at my school, and I’m training six days a week. But I like my pasta. I’ll put it down for the fight. I don’t need anyone make a name off me. I like a legit grudge match between two old champions. I’ll fight him for his job. What the heck does he do? Who’s going to talk to that guy if he has a problem? GSP with his issues, if I was in that job, he’d still be in there fighting.”
