Rousey Calls For Harsher Penalties For PED Abusers

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey spoke to media members during a pre-fight media scrum for UFC 175 this Saturday. As it usually does with MMA related topics, the talk shifted to PED’s and failed drug tests. Rousey took a strong stand against them, noting the penalties are much harsher for Olympic athletes.

UFC veteran Matt Hamill has retired from MMA two years after returning to action at UFC 152, after that he dropped a loss to Thiago Silva before being cut by the UFC. Hamill then was signed to make his WSOF debut this Saturday, but an injury forced him out of the bout and as a result forced Hamill’s retirement. Hamill posted the following message on his Facebook:

I picked him and Newton to be the coaches of a season of The Ultimate Fighter and then I switched it. And I didn’t handle it the right way. I’ve apologized to him many times and I respect Pat Miletich a lot. I’ve fully owned up to…hurting the relationship and he deserves to be inducted and I’m excited to do it.”
