The season started with all of the 16 women being ranked 1 through 16 based on their fight records, and then put into a bracket where the #1 ranked fighter would fight the #16 ranked fighter and so on. Once the coaches picked their teams the first fight was announced.

Despite neither man going at full speed, these man are showing off extremely high level, and extremely technical moves. For those unfamiliar with Marcelo Garcia, he is a 3rd degree black belt in BJJ. He has placed in the ADCC 7 times, and has won 1 bronze medal, 2 silver medals, and 4 gold medals. To add to his already impressive resume, he has won the BJJ World Championships 5 times, and competed, and won many other tournaments including the Pan Am games, the World Cup, and the Brazilian National Championships.

Following his win over Bigfoot Silva on Saturday night, Andrei Arlovski jumped on the cage to celebrate. Apparently a Brazilian fan was booing, something Arlovski didn’t like. He shouted “You boo?! Fuck you!”, one of his corner-men immediately told him to stop, and suggested he say “I love you” to make up for what he said.

Last night at UFC Fight Night 51 in Brazil, Andrei Arlovski finally got his revenge on Bigfoot Silva in the form of a first round KO. For those unfamiliar with the situation, back in 2010 under the now defunct Strikeforce banner, Andrei Arlovski met Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva in the cage for a three round war that saw Bigfoot pick up the unanimous decision.

At Cage Warriors 72 this past weekend Azi Thomas landed some pretty significant up kicks to Mario Saeed to finish the fight. What made the KO significant however was that Saeed looked at the ref and said something, before falling to the mat apparently unconscious. There was a significant delay between the up kick and Saeed falling to the mat however, which is causing some people to question if Saeed flopped to win by DQ.
