Chael Sonnen puts 'terrible' Fedor Emelianenko on blast
BJPENN.COM News - September 14, 2015
Chael Sonnen is never one to hold back his thoughts on any topic, and he just unleashed a can of audio whoop-a** on PRIDE legend Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko recently announced he will be returning to the ring earlier this year and is rumored to announce where he will be fighting next. Fans are clamoring for the former heavyweight champion to make his way to the UFC while others guarantee he will simply be fighting in Russia. Sonnen recently shared his two cents on the return of “The Last Emperor” and they are controversial to say the least. “Fedor is terrible,” Sonnen told Submission Radio. “And Fedor is a very nice guy. I had the pleasure to meet him twice. The first time, I was in line with him at a Starbucks in a hotel in Los Angeles, and he just blended in. He was just a chubby bald guy, with a nerdy sweater, waiting for his latte like everybody else. And I thought, what a nice guy.”
NSAC reveals Jake Shields' punishment for WSOF 22 incident
BJPENN.COM News - September 14, 2015
August 1, 2015 was a historic and extremely busy night in the world of mixed martial arts. World Series of Fighting chose to rival Ultimate Fighting Championship by running “WSOF 22: Palhares vs. Shields” while Rousey headlined “UFC 190”. Of course, Rousey and company outdrew WSOF, but who would have thought WSOF would be talked about more than the “Rowdy”/Correia fight a month removed from the night? During the main-event of WSOF 22, Rousimar Palhares utilized cheap tactics such as eye gouging to secure an advantageous position on Jake Shields before he submitted him in the third round. In true Palhares fashion, he held on to the hold for too long which caused Shields to become irate and strike Palhares after the bell rung.

Fedor Emelianenko is looking JACKED -- New Image Surfaces
BJPENN.COM News - September 14, 2015
Even though he hasn’t stepped foot in a ring since June 2012, Fedor Emelianenko still remains to be one of the most popular fighters in the world today. The legend cemented his legacy as one of the best heavyweights in the sport when he dominated the competition in PRIDE Fighting Championship before making his transition to American soil with Strikeforce. “The Last Emperor” impressed in his win against Brett Rogers, but fans started to think his better years were behind him when he suffered three consecutive losses to Fabricio Werdum, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Dan Henderson. While the list of names IS impressive, it was difficult for many diehard fans to watch the legend lose.

Celebrities react to Floyd Mayweather's win and retirement
BJPENN.COM News - September 13, 2015
Boxing isn’t called “The Sweet Science” for no reason. Fans who are hungry for constant knockouts, knockdowns and action should check out kickboxing. Floyd Mayweather’s style of boxing doesn’t appease many casual boxing fans’ (or diehard, for that matter) appetite for action, but it’s getting increasingly difficult to deny his skill. Mayweather has the ability to step into the ring with the likes of Andre Berto and Manny Pacquiao and dictate exactly where ehe wants the fight to go and escape without so much of a scratch on his face. He is the undefeated “king” of boxing and that will never change as “Money” claimed he would be retiring after his fight on Saturday night.

BJPENN.COM News - September 13, 2015
Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya didn’t hold back when criticizing the lack of action between Floyd Mayweather and Andre Berto during their fight on Saturday night. “The Golden Boy” hasn’t fought in a boxing ring since 2008 and has since transitioned into his role as a promoter of “Golden Boy Promotions” where he represents a slew of young, promising fighters. Mayweather’s performance in Las Vegas, Nevada against Berto resembled his fight against Manny Pacquiao in May; defensive, evasive and one-sided. There wasn’t a point in the fight where it looked like Berto was in control of the fight. Mayweather’s goal was to walk out of the ring undefeated without a scratch on his face, and he achieved the goal.
