Former Strikeforce and UFC lightweight Josh Thomson is now with Bellator MMA and set to make his debut in his new promotion. There was a little controversy when he left the UFC, with the promotion saying they released him, while he insists he made the choice not to resign. Thomson recently spoke with Sherdog and attempted to clear some of that up and gave one of the simple reasons for why he picked Bellator.

Marcus Almeida, or “Buchecha” as he’s more commonly known, is ready to make the move over to mixed martial arts and plans to do so asap. Alexander Emelianenko Files Appeal For Sexual Assault Conviction

Back in May, Alexander Emelianenko was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and fined approx. $1000 USD. The former MMA fighter was found guilty and convicted of sexual assault, kidnapping (via withholding a passport) and forcing the use “narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances”. He was convicted of doing all this to Polina Stepanova, who was his substitute housekeeper. Now, The Simonovsky Court in Moscow will review his appeal and reconsider his conviction.
