UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm and contender Miesha Tate are set to fight for the title at UFC 197 on March 5. The two were seen together in a photo posted on The Empire State Building’s social media.

With just his third fight in the UFC, lightweight star Sage Northcutt will be going up a weight class to welterweight. Northcutt’s original lightweight opponent Andrew Holbrook has been forced out of competition. Bryan Barbarena has stepped in to fight Northcutt on short notice as the scheduled event in Newark, New Jersey nears on Jan. 31. Barbarena holds a professional record of 10-3 and is 1-1 in the UFC.

While Conor McGregor is the UFC featherweight champion right now, he will have the opportunity to join BJ Penn and Randy Couture as the only men to hold belts in two weight divisions at UFC 197 when he faces Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight championship. So far there has bene no word yet on when, or if, Frankie Edgar will get his featherweight title shot against McGregor; however Frankie Edgar would be more than willing to take both the featherweight and lightweight belts off McGregor’s hands if he wins at UFC 197.

Edmond Tarverdyan, widely known as the coach of the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, is in trouble with the California State Athletic Commission. MMA Fighting reported on Tarverdyan’s situation and what lead to his issue with the CSAC. Apparently Tarverdyan had his corner license revoked in California for allegedly lying on his application regarding his arrest history.

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos believes that his bout with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is where he will become a highly recognized prized fighter with a big draw in the UFC. Although dos Anjos is a champion, his star power isn’t on the same level as the outspoken Irishman. Dos Anjos previously said that he wants to build his legacy and name to be as big as Hall of Fame legend BJ Penn, and will look to make his name more known with a win over McGregor.
