Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor were supposed to have their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 200 on July 9th, however McGregor was ultimately pulled from the event for refusing to fulfill his media obligations. While UFC President Dana White initially stated that Diaz would remain on the card, he was then pulled from the July 9th event, and rumors began emerging that he and McGregor would fight at UFC 202.

While Conor McGregor’s next opponent was initially supposed to be Nate Diaz, after McGregor was pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations, talks of a potential boxing match with Floyd Mayweather quickly picked up steam. Now, the reports have gone so far as to reveal that McGregor & Mayweather will have their boxing match in September. Throughout all of that, the UFC has been asking Diaz to sign a contract to fight McGregor sooner rather than later.

UFC heads met with Conor McGregor on Wednesday night to discuss booking his next fight and from the looks of both Dana White and “The Notorious” after their meeting, everything went really well. White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta apparently met with Nate Diaz Friday in Stockton, California to meet over lunch to discuss booking the rematch with McGregor, and it sounds like things didn’t go as smooth as the meeting with McGregor.

The two were scheduled to rematch at UFC 200, but McGregor refused to take part in media obligations to promote the event and was pulled from the card. “The Notorious” stated that he needed to concentrate on training for the rematch with Diaz instead of promoting the fight.

The Diaz brothers have mentioned before that they both were big fans of Jean-Claude Van Damme growing up. Nick and Nate have been seen recently with Van Damme and may be getting some “ninja” training with the Hollywood actor that has been helped put martial arts on the big screen.

While Conor McGregor was just pulled from UFC 200 less than 2 weeks ago, Nate Diaz believes that McGregor was never actually in the fight. McGregor announced his retirement on social media, leaving many fans confused. UFC President Dana White then announced on SportsCenter that McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations for the event. While there has been quite a bit of back-and-forth between McGregor and the UFC, the UFC brass has stuck to their guns and refused to give into McGregor’s demands.
