"Ring" Magazine "Should have been Holm not Rousey"
bjpenndotcom - December 6, 2015
When Ronda Rousey graced the cover of Ring Magazine last month, the boxing community went into an uproar about the cover. Many critics surfaced responding to Ring’s choice of cover, wondering why the MMA mega star was on the popular magazine. One of the more vocal critics was Floyd “Money” Mayweather who took to verbal jabs at owner Oscar De La Hoya for the cover. Boxing promoter Lou DiBella was the latest to get his jabs in Saturday night following an event headlined by Daniel Jacobs and Peter Quillin at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. DiBella bashed the magazine, not only for putting Rousey on the cover, but for not putting a legitimate women’s boxing champion with 16 title defenses and 3 of those were in different weight classes. CNG’s Joseph Stazewski gets the quotes: “If I was Ring Magazine, maybe I would have put Holly Holm on the cover before she won,” DiBella said at the post-fight press conference, continuing, “And talked about her story and maybe why she had a chance and what she accomplished in boxing that they didn’t pay attention to for her whole career.”

Klitschko seeks only the WBC title to achieve the heavyweight title unification this Saturday in Germany. With all the doping in sports, Fury has taken a reverse psychology approach to the fairness of testing and feels that in an “all or nothing” approach to sports, doping is his solution to fix the problem. Fury, in a statement, also stated that he does not use or condone the use of any performance enhancing drugs himself. “I can look at a man and tell you if he’s full of drugs by one glance at his body with his top off. Boxing has got a big problem with drugs, but it doesn’t bother me because at the end of the day, it’s about determination over drugs.”
