Prior to the announcement that Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz would have their highly anticipated welterweight rematch at UFC 202, rumors were circling in regards to a potential boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

Both men went back and forth in the media, with both of them verbally agreeing to a fight. While nothing was ever set in stone, the talks progressed to the point that a potential date for the fight was revealed on Fox Sports 1. Eventually however, McGregor signed to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 202, ultimately avenging his UFC 202 loss.

Now, while the fight is no longer being discussed, Manny Pacquiao has taken the opportunity to bash Floyd Mayweather for wanting to come out of retirement and box UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor

Pacquiao is currently gearing up for his upcoming fight with Jessie Vargas in November, and will look to put together a win streak and build on his recent win over Timothy Bradley.
