Renzo Gracie Responds To Royce Criticism
BJPENN.COM News - November 5, 2013
“In order to make a negative comment about the Gracie family, you have to help the Gracie family. You have to actually be producing new champions, putting your time to build new champions. I don’t remember Royce doing that… Each man chooses their path. How can I judge someone if I don’t walk on their shoes? It’s their comfort zones. Unfortunately, I cannot just sit and watch. Don’t judge others with harsh word on situations that you didn’t try to improve them. This is the portrait of life. People will claim that we forgot who we are, that we forgot jiu-jitsu. … We didn’t forget s–t, man. We are 100% what we are. We live, eat and breathe what we do. Come train them, and then you’re going to be able to evaluate the reality. Sometimes people move away from reality and start dreaming, and they start living in the dreamland, judging others by their dreams or believing what people tell them.” Awhile back, Royce Gracie was very critical of the performances being put out by former UFC middleweight fighter, Roger Gracie. Stating that pure jiu-jitsu is enough to win inside the Octagon and blaming the absence of that mentality for the losses he notched.

'Cage Rust' Not A Concern For Dominick Cruz
BJPENN.COM News - November 4, 2013
“I feel that cage rust is something that’s brought up to give odds makers something to bet on. I think you can work it completely out of your system as long as you’re in training camp and training correctly. The biggest part about ring rust is the mental part. I think a lot of that comes from not being able to control your adrenaline, not being able to understand where you are at, not being able to relax at the right times in the fight when you need to, and you can figure all of that out, not only mentally by training your mind, but in camp you put yourself in those predicaments and rough situations. You fight out of them and that’s how you prepare for ring rust. It won’t be an issue and I will be ready on the night of the fight.”

Roy Nelson on Cormier Bout: "I didn't feel like it was a fight, just a good sparring match"
BJPENN.COM News - November 4, 2013
“Back to the drawing board. I didn’t feel like it was a fight, just a good sparring match. I was back in the gym on Monday. It was a crappy camp. I just got out-pointed. It’s nothing against Daniel [Cormier]. Excellent gameplan, played it to a tee. I just wish I had two more rounds. Daniel won that night and he was the better guy, but I definitely would like to do a rematch. I’d fight anybody I’ve ever lost to.”
