“I’ve been training in Sao Paulo for over a month, and I’ll be training here for the rest of my camp. My camp has been great at Demian Maia’s team. I expect a tough fight. He’s a good fighter that likes to stand and bang. It will be a great fight, for sure. He like to use his hands and I like to use my muay thai, so it will be cool. I don’t know if his style benefits me, but that’s a match-up that I like more (than wrestlers) because he goes there to fight.” The former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua, tells MMAFighting.com that he is expecting a stand up fight this Friday night in Australia when he steps opposite, James Te Huna.

Former UFC middleweight champion and MMA great, Anderson “The Spider” Silva, has been very vocal regarding his aspirations to one day have a boxing match with the 43-year-old Jones Jr. Which is why Roy has decided to take a fight in Moscow so that he can be ready for a Silva crossover collision if and when the Brazilian gets past Chris Weidman at UFC 168 this December (via ESPN):

The event, which goes down on December 14th was supposed to feature a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson. Instead, a shift in the TUF Finale main event will see ‘Mighty Mouse’ versus Benavidez come in and save the show.
