It is the first time I’m commenting on this. This is one of the things that we change. Our team had a lot of people with different thoughts. Although it was not the reason why I lost, from that we analyzed what was good and what was bad, so we decided to change it.”

Johny Hendricks: "I can never tell myself that I'm one of the elite"
BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2013
“I see myself as a power puncher, but for some reason I can never tell myself that I’m one of the elite. Does that make sense? I’ll downplay myself before I compliment myself. I know [Lawler] is very talented. I know he has some power in his hands, and that’s what makes this fight exciting. Who is going to touch who and who is going to counter the other’s power? That’s what we have figure out. I’m happy to have coaches I have on my side, and they are already figuring out great ways we can win this fight. And we’ll move forward from there. I’m hungry for every fight I go into. Every fight I go in thinking I’m 0-0 and I’m fighting for my livelihood. We are very blessed to be in the organization like the UFC. I want to make sure I do everything I can and lay it all on the line in each fight-not only to make the fans happy-but to make sure the Fertitta brothers and Mr. White are happy with me. That’s my goal. If I can keep everybody happy, I’m doing my job. Not only is my job to put on a good show, but to win fights in the process. That’s what I strive for. I can’t wait for this fight. I’m super-excited. I just start laughing and smiling when I think about fighting in Texas. And it’s even better because it will be for a belt. I’m super-appreciative and very excited to have this opportunity.”

Ronda On Tate: ' She has a nice a$$, that's how she got this fight'
BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2013
“She really has to nitpick to try and find weaknesses in my game. I mean, she has to tell herself something. If you think about it, her best performance ever was against Marloes Coenen to win the Strikeforce belt. Then I beat her very decisively and then she had an embarrassing and bad performance against Julie Kedzie where she got dropped and head kicked. She got dropped a couple of times. She was pretty much embarrassing and bad to the very end. And then in her UFC debut she lost and got dropped by an elbow by Cat Zingano. She was getting beat pretty badly. Then Cat Zignano hurt her knee. Miesha has a nice ass and she has an ongoing rivalry with me and that’s the only reason she was picked for this fight. The rivalry is why she is even around. It’s not because of her athletic merit. She really has to play that part of it up (rivalry) because that’s all she really has. She has to make it personal because you can’t make it an athletic rivaly because there really is no comparison. I’m an Olympic athlete and she’s a high school wrestler.”
UFC 168's Barnett on Browne: 'It's just another fight'
BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2013
“It’s just another fight, man. The ring is still the same. It doesn’t matter if it’s just the two of us in the gym or if the world is watching. I’ve been doing this since I was a high school wrestler in Seattle and we’d get crowds for the meets. It’s nice people are interested in the show, but it doesn’t make a difference to my fight preparation. This isn’t a fight where I have to build up some sort of hatred of the guy. He’s been cordial to me every time we’ve crossed paths. He just happens to be the guy the UFC has put in front of me at this time. He likes to go full-tilt; he likes to bang. I’m happy to provide him with that type of fight. Or it could go anywhere. This should be a fun fight; he’s been on a nice run.” Heavyweights collide this weekend at UFC !68 when Travis Browne and Josh Barnett square off in the eight-sided cage.
Ronda Rousey Expects Nick Diaz To Return To Fighting
BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2013
Video: Ronda Rousey ready for Tate at UFC 168 “Nick’s been fighting for a really really long time. I’ve only been fighting for three years, I mean, he’s been fighting I think for over a decade now. This sport puts a lot of miles on you very quickly. If he feels like he needs a rest and to take a break, you can’t fight for anyone other than yourself. You can’t fight sooner than you feel like you should. It really is a life and death situation out there and you have to do it when you feel it’s right… Yea. I think he will [return to fighting].”

Miesha Tate: ' I just want to punch Ronda in the face'
BJPENN.COM News - December 23, 2013
“I’m prepared to do anything necessary to win this fight. I’ve trained everything. Obviously I have the wrestling. I feel like I have a very strong ground game that’s been really underestimated. So, I’ve been sharpening the things that I want to, that I feel like I need to. But, you know, I just really want to punch her. And I would love nothing more than to get my first clean knockout with my hands on national television on the biggest pay-per-view…that would be amazing for me. I’d love it if she’d stand and trade with me. But I don’t think that she’ll want to, so we’ll see what happens.” “She’s just going to be a body. A body in the way of my title and that’s the way I want to keep it. I want to stay emotionally uninvested. I want to get the knockout because I want to prove I’m that much better than her. That’s just a personal goal, it doesn’t necessarily have to do with the fact that she is somewhat an arch nemesis. It’s just what I want to do.”
