Yves Edwards’ footwork seemed to have confused Hallmann in the opening five minutes, which halted Hallmann from taking the fight to the ground. Edwards then proceeded to abandon his footwork in favor of power-punches which left him susceptible to takedowns. This hurt him and ultimately cost him the match.

Voelker suffered three consecutive UFC losses in 2013 and was looking to pick up a win. Ring rust was a factor for Benoist, but he was able to push through the fatigue and get his hand raised.
