Stella Hemetsberger to defend ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title against Natalia Diachkova

Two-sport ONE World Champion Stella Hemetsberger makes the first defense of her ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title against Natalia Diachkova at ONE Fight Night 46 in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, August 14. The bout headlines the card from Lumpinee Stadium, broadcasting live on Prime Video.

Hemetsberger arrived on the ONE Friday Fights series in late 2024 and needed just three fights to land a US$100,000 contract. She turned that opportunity into history soon after.

The Austrian defeated then-champion Jackie Buntan by unanimous decision to capture the vacant Muay Thai title, becoming her country’s first-ever ONE World Champion. Five months later she beat Buntan again for the kickboxing crown, this time by split decision.

That result made Hemetsberger just the third woman in promotional history to hold titles in two striking disciplines, joining Stamp Fairtex and Janet Todd. Her ONE record stands at a perfect five wins from five fights.

Diachkova has followed a similar path. The 31-year-old from Team Mehdi Zatout built four consecutive wins on the same weekly series to earn her own six-figure contract in 2024.

Her first world title opportunity did not go her way, but two statement victories put her back in line for another shot. Four of her six wins under the ONE banner have come by first-round knockout.

Hemetsberger’s first defense pits speed against knockout power

Stella Hemetsberger’s perfect promotional record faces its most dangerous test yet in a challenger who finishes fights early. Diachkova’s four knockouts inside the distance mark her as one of the division’s most explosive strikers.

Hemetsberger, for her part, has built her championship run on five-round composure rather than single moments. Her ability to close out longer fights has separated her from the rest of the strawweight division.

Whichever quality wins out on August 14 will decide who leaves Lumpinee Stadium with two-sport gold still intact.
