Sunday March 10, we kick BJPenn.com’s FIST-ta-CUFF Radio off at 7:30 PM PST with the head instructor and co-founder of American Top Team. Ricardo was named the 13th most powerful player in MMA in the Fight! Power rankings which means this is a perfect guest to talk to about the current state of MMA. We will talk to Ricardo about the history of ATT, his time learning martial arts from a young age (He got his start in combat sports at 4 years old), and the program he has at ATT to teach judo to visually impaired students. Ricardo’s story of getting into BJJ, to his leaving the famed Gracie academy, creating Brazilian Top Team, and ending up in the states to start ATT is worthy of a movie and we will be talking all of it. I couldn’t think of a better way to start out the show then to have a man who has won Gold at the first ever “Mundials,” or World Jiu-Jitsu Championship & Gold in the International Masters Mundials. Back in the day UFC President, Dana White, agreed to have a three-round boxing match with Tito Ortiz. The two MMA personalities have a well documented history of dislike for each other and this special TV program, that aired on Spike TV, documents one of the most memorable moments of that rivalry.

“Since Hector Lombard has been in the UFC, he’s been mediocre at best. But at the same time, he’s been fighting high-caliber fighters. Yushin Okami has been in the top five for a long time, you know, so he’s no slouch. At the same time, he was asking for a title shot, I felt he needed to prove his own in the weight class. So, he’s being introduced to the UFC. Down the road, if it presents itself, yeah I’d fight Hector Lombard. I’m definitely a guy that accepts any fight that the UFC throws at me, you know? The UFC will return to Canada this summer, as a live event is set to take place in the MTS Centre in Winnipeg on June 15, 2013. The event, which is expected to serve as UFC 161 (a pay-per-view), will mark the organizations first appearance in the province of Manitoba.

It was announced today that a middleweight bout between Cezar “Mutant” Ferreira (5-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and C.B. Dollaway (13-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has been added to the UFC on FX 8 card set for May. Ferreira most recently won “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” in 2012, where he scored a decision victory over Sergio Moraes in the tournament final. The victory over Moraes marked Ferreira’s first career decision win and also improved his record to 4-1 over the past 3 years.

In anticipation of tomorrow night’s UFC on FUEL TV 8 event the UFC is putting on it’s official weigh-ins ceremony tonight in hopes to get all fighters to meet their agreed upon weight limit and make their bouts official. The event kicks off at 8:00 P.M. PT from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will streak live in the player below.
