Sunday March 10, we kick BJPenn.com’s FIST-ta-CUFF Radio off at 7:30 PM PST with the head instructor and co-founder of American Top Team. Ricardo was named the 13th most powerful player in MMA in the Fight! Power rankings which means this is a perfect guest to talk to about the current state of MMA. We will talk to Ricardo about the history of ATT, his time learning martial arts from a young age (He got his start in combat sports at 4 years old), and the program he has at ATT to teach judo to visually impaired students. Ricardo’s story of getting into BJJ, to his leaving the famed Gracie academy, creating Brazilian Top Team, and ending up in the states to start ATT is worthy of a movie and we will be talking all of it. I couldn’t think of a better way to start out the show then to have a man who has won Gold at the first ever “Mundials,” or World Jiu-Jitsu Championship & Gold in the International Masters Mundials. Look at my dumb tattoo so you can keep your mind off my very feminine chest muscles.'”

Yushin Okami has been in the top five for a long time, you know, so he’s no slouch. At the same time, he was asking for a title shot, I felt he needed to prove his own in the weight class. So, he’s being introduced to the UFC. Down the road, if it presents itself, yeah I’d fight Hector Lombard. I’m definitely a guy that accepts any fight that the UFC throws at me, you know? The UFC will return to Canada this summer, as a live event is set to take place in the MTS Centre in Winnipeg on June 15, 2013. The event, which is expected to serve as UFC 161 (a pay-per-view), will mark the organizations first appearance in the province of Manitoba.

UFC welterweight fighter, Jake Shields, is the latest addition to the BJPENN.COM Radio guest list this week. Shields is coming off an Athletic suspension for testing positive for banned substances and is rumored to be scheduled for a date with fellow Strikeforce import Tyron Woodley at UFC 161 this June.

The man wrapping up the show this week has seen all the madness that has happened inside the Bellator FC cage this year. Manny Rodriguez is back in the shop and that means you are in for a treat. Manny “Mean Bean” Rodriguez is one of the men who holds it down on the mic for the Bellator FC and he’s had a front seat for all the fights this year. Bellator has put on some amazing fights, some huge upsets, and an amazing season of tournament fights so far. We will talk to Manny about everything that has gone down up to this point and of course what is left for the rest of the year. Think about it we are only in March and we have seen so much already. This Sunday on BJPenn.com’s FIST-ta-CUFF Radio, our third guest Nick Piedmont is ready to step back in the Bellator Cage and go to war. We will talk to Nick about how his training has been going at one of the best gyms in the nation, getting the call to come back and fight for Bellator, and the details on the call. Nick is making the most of his move to San Diego, CA and training with the rest of the team at Alliance MMA. Nick is no longer the new guy at the gym, but another member of the team and of course we will talk to him about how his gym life has changed since the move.
