Silva explains how the Nogueira brothers convinced him to keep fighting, his warrior spirit and his family. “The Nogueira brothers are part of my family. I love these buys because me stay together with my dream, because one day I talked to Rogerio and Rodrigo and say I no more fight bro… Ya, the time Rogerio and Rodrigo talk to me, I no have nothing. My dream was lost, Rodrigo talked to me and said ‘hey come to my house, I will help you. Don’t worry. Come to hear, we will train together.’ I finished my contract with Pride. The guys tell me not to fight in Pride anymore. I said ‘what? I fight in Pride, I’m good in Pride. I had no problem with Pride, but Rodrigo help me for better fights. I love Rodrigo. I love Rogerio. This is my family.”

UFC officials announced Tuesday night that the organziation will return to Toronto in September for a pay-per-view event that will serve as UFC 165. UFC 165 will mark the fourth event held in Toronto, the most recent being UFC 152 which took place at the Air Canada Centre on September 22, 2012.

With his first win in his return to Lightweight under his belt, TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) is calling out three top-10 fighters for his next fight. “The Dream” made his return to lightweight at UFC On Fuel TV 8 in March, this after going 2-2 while in the UFC’s welterweight division. Sanchez squared off with former Pride champion Takanori Gomi that night and ended up getting the nod from two of the three judges on route to a split decision victory.

During an interview with mmajunkie.com, Gegard Mousasi (34-3-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) acknowledged that he recently had surgery to repair a torn ACL. Even worse, he confirmed that he tore the same ACL that was previously repaired in March of 2012. The former Strikforce and Dream champion, Mousasi, made his UFC debut at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in April against Ilir Latifi, knowing that his knee was injured. Gegard was able to pull off the decision victory that night, even while fighting on a severely injured kneww.
