During an interview with mmajunkie.com, Gegard Mousasi (34-3-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) acknowledged that he recently had surgery to repair a torn ACL. Even worse, he confirmed that he tore the same ACL that was previously repaired in March of 2012. The former Strikforce and Dream champion, Mousasi, made his UFC debut at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in April against Ilir Latifi, knowing that his knee was injured. Gegard was able to pull off the decision victory that night, even while fighting on a severely injured kneww.

Earlier today on the opposite side of the pond, former UFC contender, Paul Daley returned to action and did so in dramatic and devastating fashion. Rodrigo Ribeiro tried his best to stay on the outside of the British fighters power strikes but after a grazing uppercut stunned the Brazilian, Daley took over and turned the lights out in gruesome fashion.

The New York Bad Ass, Phil Baroni, is set to take on Japanese knockout artist Nobutatsu Suzuki at ONE FC: “Rise To Power” in Manila on May 31st. The bout with Suzuki will mark Baroni’s 3rd with the asian based promotion. Phil’s first fight came at ONE FC’s inaugural show against Yoshiyuki Yoshida, who more or less held onto Baroni for the duration of the fight, earning a lack luster decision win.

Former Bellator Lightweight Champion, Eddie Alvarez, has been in a legal dispute with the Bellator promotion for the past several months. Now another former champion, still signed with the promotion, has come out with an interesting tale that really portrays some questionable insight to how the Bellator promotion takes care of their fighters.

Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (25-10 MMA, 6-4 UFC) was recently forced to withdraw from a scheduled UFC on FOX 7 bout with Matt Brown, this after it was discovered that he had a heart-related problem in which he basically has two heart beats. The syndrome, known as Wolff-Parkinson White pattern or “Wolf Heart”, is a heart disorder that can lead to rapid heart rate, low blood pressure and even heart failure. Although the news was  anything but good, it’s not all bad either, because according to the Brit, he hasn’t quite been diagnosed with the actual syndrome just yet. Dan visited a cardiologist and was told he would have to undergo ablation surgery, so that doctors may be able to study his heart and see if they can remedy the issue.
