We know one person who’s extremely happy that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has retired. Legendary boxer Oscar De La Hoya is happy to see Mayweather gone and hopes he never makes a comeback. That’s what he told esnewsreporting.com when they asked him if he thought, like many do, that the undefeated boxer would be making a comeback to get that record-breaking 50th win.

Boxer Andre Ward will reportedly no longer be competing in the super middleweight division and will move up in weight to the light heavyweight division. That’s according to Dan Rafael of ESPN, who says the WBA super middleweight champion is finished with 168 pounds and his next fight will likely be at light heavyweight, or 175.

Chris Mintz is an amateur MMA fighter with a background in wrestling and is now being hailed as a hero. Mintz was present for the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, that took place on Thursday and witnesses say he acted as a hero, possibly saving a whole classroom of students while putting his life on the line.

Today at the weigh-ins for Saturday’s Showtime Championship Boxing event, which will take place in Cincinnati, OH, both Adrien “The Problem” Broner and his opponent Khabib Allakhverdiev made weight for their title fight. The two will be fighting for the vacant WBA World light welterweight title. Broner stepped on the scale and came in at 138.5 pounds, while Allakhverdiev weighed 139. Broner seemed to be very drained and thin during the weigh-ins, while the former WBA World 140 pound champ, Allakhverdiev, seemed to be solid and much healthier at the weight.

Are you a fan of boxer Adrien Broner? Because fellow boxer Carl Froch is definitely not. Broner fights this Saturday in Cincinnati, OH, against Khabib Allakhverdiev. The two will be fighting for the vacant WBA super-lightweight title. Ahead of the fight, fellow boxer Carl Froch gave his opinion of the Broner, telling skysports.com that he thinks he’s a clown and is just trying to be a Floyd Mayweather wannabe. He also said that he talks a big game but isn’t able to back all of it up.

Bellator MMA welterweight Paul Daley and GLORY kickboxing welterweight champion Nieky Holzken have been linked for a while. Currently, Holzken is waiting for his next challenger, which is supposed to be determined after the GLORY 25 MILAN Welterweight Contender Tournament. However, a fight between himself and Daley was rumored to be set up for the big Bellator ‘Dynamite,’ but ultimately did not happen.

Let’s be clear, there are very few people out there who actually believe that the undefeated boxer will stay retired for very long. He beat Andre Berto easily in his 49th win and most believe that he’ll eventually come back to get that coveted 50th win. If he were to come back and win one more, he would break Rocky Mariciano’s record.

There’s a White House Petition still going around, steadily gaining more votes by the day, and then there are fighters who have decided to boycott Nevada, saying that they will not fight there because of the ruling.

Cris Cyborg has recently been calling for year-round testing so that she can prove to everyone, including UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, that she’s clean so they can stop using that excuse for why she shouldn’t fight the undefeated champ. Rousey has had no issues slamming the Invicta FC featherweight champ for testing positive for PEDs in the past, even though all her tests since then have been clean.
