The official White House petition to get Nick Diaz’s five year suspension lifted has blown up, but he still needs all the help he can get! Nearly one month ago, Nick Diaz was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for failing one of his post fight drug tests for marijuana. The commission wanted to make an example out of the fighter and unjustly suspended him for five years. When the result of the hearing was released, fighters took to social media to voice their disproval and it wasn’t long before the White House petition was created.

As soon as it was revealed that Nick Diaz would be getting suspended for five years for failing one of his UFC 183 post-fight drug tests, the mixed martial arts community came out in full support of the popular UFC fighter. Everybody from Ronda Rousey to Henry Cejudo spoke out against the Nevada State Athletic Commission on the unfit punishment, and it seems like the music world has Nick’s back as well! American singer and fashion icon Cher is the latest celebrity to tweet in support of Nick Diaz’s suspension being lifted! The music icon shared the following tweet with her three million followers:

Floyd Mayweather is less than one full month retired and he is already living the life! “Money” appeared in the boxing ring for the final time against Andre Berto in September on Showtime pay-per-view and while the buy-rate numbers were underwhelming, Mayweather’s performance was not. Boxer Andre Ward will reportedly no longer be competing in the super middleweight division and will move up in weight to the light heavyweight division. That’s according to Dan Rafael of ESPN, who says the WBA super middleweight champion is finished with 168 pounds and his next fight will likely be at light heavyweight, or 175.

Chris Mintz is an amateur MMA fighter with a background in wrestling and is now being hailed as a hero. Mintz was present for the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, that took place on Thursday and witnesses say he acted as a hero, possibly saving a whole classroom of students while putting his life on the line.

Today at the weigh-ins for Saturday’s Showtime Championship Boxing event, which will take place in Cincinnati, OH, both Adrien “The Problem” Broner and his opponent Khabib Allakhverdiev made weight for their title fight. The two will be fighting for the vacant WBA World light welterweight title. Broner stepped on the scale and came in at 138.5 pounds, while Allakhverdiev weighed 139. Broner seemed to be very drained and thin during the weigh-ins, while the former WBA World 140 pound champ, Allakhverdiev, seemed to be solid and much healthier at the weight.
