Saw Min Min outlines blueprint to defeating Yodlekpet at ONE Friday Fights 157: ‘Won’t Be Reckless’

He knows exactly what went wrong. He rushed in, got caught with a head kick, stood up too soon, and it was over in 25 seconds. Saw Min Min has spent the months since then making sure it does not happen again.
Saw Min Min faces four-time Muay Thai World Champion Yodlekpet Or Atchariya in the flyweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Friday Fights 157, streaming live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, June 5.
The 28-year-old Myanmar native carries a 15-2 professional record and three promotional stoppages into the bout, representing Doe Yoe Yar Lethwei Club. His most recent appearance, a 25-second loss to Detchawalit Silkmuaythai at ONE Friday Fights 141 in February, was a lesson absorbed in full.
He flew to Poland for a training camp, then completed a three-week camp in Mae Sot near the Myanmar border. He arrives at Lumpinee in the best shape of his promotional career.
The Detchawalit loss is not something Saw Min Min has avoided thinking about. He dissected it, named the mistakes, and built his entire approach for June 5 around correcting them.
“My biggest mistake in that fight was being too impatient and reckless. My plan from the start was to charge forward and look for a knockout as quickly as possible,” he said.
“The first mistake was getting caught with a head kick. The second mistake was even worse. As soon as I got up, I stood up immediately even though my body hadn’t fully recovered yet.”
Saw Min Min wants to turn Yodlekpet’s forward pressure into a finishing opportunity
Saw Min Min has watched Yodlekpet Or Atchariya closely and found the game plan he needs. The Thai veteran comes forward with relentless pressure, a punishing left hand, and elbows that end fights.
Saw Min Min does not plan to match that output with his own. He plans to wait, absorb the aggression, and make Yodlekpet pay on the counter.
After training in Poland and Mae Sot, Saw Min Min arrived at the most mentally composed version of himself he has described in any pre-fight interview.
“For this fight, my preparation has been focused on being calmer and more patient. I definitely won’t be reckless like I was in my last fight,” he said.
“My main strategy is to counter on the second beat. I’ll let Yodlekpet be the one who comes forward and initiates the action, then I’ll use my accuracy to counter him with clean shots. I need to use his strength to my advantage. If he’s eager to pressure me and come forward, I’ll stay composed and wait for him to throw first. Then I’ll use his own momentum and impact against him, turning it into powerful counterattacks aimed at the most important targets. I truly believe that I will knock him out in this fight.”
