Please join me in welcoming my good friend @MieshaTate to @ONEChampionship! She is one of the greatest female mixed martial artists in history. Above all, she has a heart of gold. Miesha will be moving to Singapore in early 2019 to join us as a Vice President. #WeAreONE

The end of 2018 has been absolutely massive for ONE and they kicked things off by picking up the former UFC and Bellator lightweight king Eddie Alvarez. Shortly after, they would end up making history as one half of the first ever MMA “trade” that saw them send their former welterweight champion Ben Askren to the UFC for the former flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

Last night at the press conference for their upcoming event this Friday night, ONE: Heart of the Lion, they announced an eSports partnership as well as lightweight and flyweight Grand Prix title tournaments that will feature Johnson and Alvarez making their promotional debuts.

As for their newest addition in Tate, the former bantamweight staple has been retired from MMA since November 2016 when she took on Raquel Pennington at UFC 205.

Since that time Tate has given birth to a baby girl and hosted her own MMA radio show on satellite radio as well as having done some commentary work for submission grappling events.

Physically competing anymore or not, it’s clear that Tate still has a love for the sport and this new venture just proves that.
