Colton Smith and Washington Nunes Da Silva clashed on Saturday evening in the World Series of Fighting decagon at “WSOF 24: Fitch vs. Okami. The fight aired on the preliminary card, but it still managed to turn some heads after several controversial moments were scattered throughout their fifteen minute fight.

Neither men could get the best of each other in the early going as a foul from Da Silva sapped any momentum any fighter gained in the first five minutes. Smith was on top in side control and was struck in the head by the knee of Da Silva which, while ineffective, is illegal. Smith was quick to point out the illegal strike much to the dismay of the MMA community. From that point on, Smith went into full showmanship mode and actually paused his beating of Da Silva to pose for the crowd for the benefit of those with flash photography.

Do you think Smith’s taunting was unsportsmanlike, or was he just hamming it up to bring the fans to life? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
