WSOF To Launch Amateur Series, Will Award Pro Contracts

Big news for Amateur MMA fighters, the World Series Of Fighting plans to launch an amateur division in 2015 to showcase amateur fighters and build up the future of the sport under the WSOF banner. With the amateur division comes pro contracts as rewards according to WSOF President Ray Sefo.

Sefo spoke with MMAJunkie about his hopes for an amateur division:

“As we continue to grow our company and our roster at World Series of Fighting, we believe it’s important to be working to identify future stars of the sport,” Sefo said. “This new division will allow us to do exactly that, as we seek to build on a grassroots level. This will allow us to help promising young fighters grow their entire career under the World Series of Fighting banner.”
