World Series of Fighting’s VP: ‘Conor McGregor vs. Gerogi Karakhanyan wouldn’t be a fair fight’

World Series of Fighting’s vice president and matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz couldn’t help himself from jumping in and commenting on a question asked to WSOF’s featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan during a recent conference call. The champ was asked about comments he made about UFC featherweight Conor McGregor. After he finished his answer, Aziz jumped in and gave his two cents.

“When you guys are talking about fighters, Rick Glenn is one of the best 145’ers in the world. Conor McGregor is just a different caliber of fighter. I’m not going to talk bad about Conor or anybody, but Rick Glenn is at the top tier of the 145’ers in the world. It wouldn’t be even a fair match up. It would be an unfair match up, to fight someone like Georgi Karakhanyan at this point of his career. But the guy is promoting himself, and good for him. But if I was a matchmaker, I would not match them up with Georgi at all.”

There’s not a lot to say here. Everyone has something to say about McGregor. This guy is talked about more than some champions. Let’s just wait and watch his next fight please, before we make any more assumptions about his future or his potential. If the guy loses than all that star-power he has been fighting for is pointless and so are these conversations about him.
