Today the hopes of a potential superfight between Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg took a significant step back as Cris Cyborg stated that she will no longer attempt to fight at bantamweight.

After an ankle injury forced her out of a bantamweight debut that would eventually lead to hopes of a potential superfight with Ronda Rousey, it appears the only way a bout between the two could go down would be at featherweight.

“I will not fight anymore in the bantamweight (division), just in my weight or weight married to the fight that everyone expects. I believe that the sacrifice has to be on both sides, because we are two champions, just different weights. For my next fight will have a major change. I’ll bring the Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral to track my workouts.”
