Conor McGregor is a very polarizing figure in the UFC. Either you like him or you don’t. One thing that can’t be debated however, is McGregor’s dominance in the UFC. His recent win over Dustin Poirier extended his undefeated UFC streak to 4, and his win streak to 11.

Leading up to UFC Fight Night Stockholm this past Saturday, fighters on the card were asked by MMAJunkie if they thought Conor McGregor would be the next big European champion.

Ernest Chavez: “No, I don’t, but I think he’s very very talented.”

Charles Rosa: “I’m not sure I mean he’d obviously have to get past Jose Aldo, but he definitely shows he has skill.”

Niklas Backstrom: “No, no Alexander Gustafsson.”

Tor Troeng: “I think Alex is going to be the next big champion from Europe but I think Conor looks great in his fight, his last fight was fantastic so I think he’s going to be up there too, but I think Alex is going to be there first.”

Cathal Pendred: “100%. I think Conor is going to get a title shot in his next fight and I think he’s going to win that, and he’s going to be the first European champion since Bas Rutten.”

Max Holloway: “I don’t see why not, at the end of the day anybody in the UFC can be a champion, you’re in the UFC for a reason, we got these little gloves, you hit people in the right spot, the right time they fall down, it is what it is, I think he could be a champion one day, time will tell.”

Akira Corassani: “I mean he knows how to fight, he markets himself amazingly. I’m actually a little bit of a fan, but I’ll take that fight any day. when I take out max Holloway on Saturday, I’ll definitely take that fight.”
