Wanderlei Dodges Commission Again, NSAC Postpones Disciplinary Hearing

By BJPENN.COM News - August 21, 2014

Former PRIDE FC Champion and current UFC Fighter, Wanderlei Silva has pulled another fast one on the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The MMA Legend was expected to attend today’s official NSAC meeting and answer for violations previously committed. (More on that HERE.) But his absence, and a filed motion from his legal team to dismiss any disciplinary action against him, forced the commission to postpone the UFC fighter’s disciplinary hearing to a future date on their calendar.

UFC Fight Pass was in attendance and streamed today’s event for subscribers.

Prior to his scheduled bout against Chael Sonnen, Wanderlei Silva was surprised by drug testers, at his gym, as part of the new random drug testing policies backed by the UFC and NSAC. Silva then escaped the facility without adhering to the request for samples, resulting in the cancellation of his bout and possible further penalties.
