Welterweights Omari Akhmedov (15-3 MMA) and Sergio Moraes (10-2 MMA) squared off on the UFC Fight Night 80 fight pass prelims.
Omari Akhmedov and Sergio Moraes were happy to exchange strikes to begin round one.
Omari Akhmedov was able to connect with a huge counter right hand that dropped Moraes half way through the opening round.
Moraes was able to survive but Akhmedov has clearly found his range to close out round one.
Akhmedov continued to land the better strikes in round two and would end the second frame by scoring a late takedown on Moraes.
Round three and it is clear that Sergio Moraes needs to look for the finish.
Akhmedov is using excellent footwork to keep Moraes on the outside while he counters with strikes.
Moraes dives in for a takedown but Akhmedov is able to shrug it off.
Moraes lands a huge right hand and swarms in on Akhmedov who is clearly hurt.
A few shots later and the ref has seen enough. What an amazing comeback win for Moraes.
