UFN 77 Results: Matheus Nicolau submits Bruno Korea in Round 3

A flyweight bout between Bruno Korea (4-1 MMA) and Matheus Nicolau (11-1-1 MMA) kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 77 event in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Matheus Nicolau was able to find his range early, landing a clean left hand on Korea. After exchanging a few single shots, Nicolau was able to counter Korea with a huge left causing him to crash to the canvas. Nicolau rushed in to finish, but Korea was able to pull guard and gain his composure. Bruno was able to get back to his feet, but Nicolau landed a slick spinning elbow before the end of round 1.

Nicolau was able to take the fight to the floor early in Round 2. However, Korea ended up using the position to land an illegal upkick that clearly hurt Nicolau. After a brief timeout the fight resumed and Nicolau shot for an armbar. The fighters would return to their feet where Nicolau continued to pepper Korea with his left hand to close out the round.

Round 3 and Korea decides to rush forward and ends up eating a huge shot from Nicolai. Nicolai quickly moves to mount and begins landing ground and pound. Nicolai latches on to a guillotine choke and this fight is over.

Result: Matheus Nicolau def. Bruno Korea via submission (guillotine choke) – Round 3, 3:27
