By Chris Taylor - September 18, 2015

Leslie Smith (7-6-1 MMA) is the latest UFC fighter to refuse to fight in Nevada following the NSAC’s five-year suspension of Nick Diaz.

The women’s bantamweight competitor took to her Sqor account to announce her decision:

“I am making a statement and will stand with my fellow fighters Nick Diaz, and Henry Cejudo and refuse to fight in Nevada while this draconian and arbitrary punishment against Nick is in place. This situation is just the latest example demonstrating the need for mixed martial artists to stand together, to influence our sport, and have our voices heard by speaking together as the mixed martial arts fighters association.”

The 33-year-old Smith is a teammate of Nick’s, training out of the Cesar Gracie Fight Team in California.

Leslie has gone 1-2 thus far in her UFC career scoring a win over Jessamyn Duke, while suffering losses to Sarah Kaufmann and most recently Jessica Eye.
