Jose Aldo

The UFC has released an official statement regarding the drama surrounding Jose Aldo’s recent drug-testing snafu. The situation was a mess and caused challenger Conor McGregor to call the champion, his UFC 189 opponent, a weasel.

Of course, the situation was sorted out and Aldo eventually took the tests. The following is
UFC’s statement, which shows support for their champion:

“The UFC has learned about the ‘out of competition test’, originally scheduled for last Thursday, June 11, with Jose Aldo, by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Aldo has always been an exemplary athlete and a great champion for the UFC, and all this time proved that. We affirm with authority that Aldo was made available to the test time and exact location, as requested by the Nevada Commission.

The manager and coach of the champion, Andre Pederneiras, then received the kit at his academy in Rio de Janeiro, on Friday, when the test was officially conducted.

The UFC declares unconditional support to featherweight champion Jose Aldo and reiterates its admiration for the Nevada Commission, wanting to ensure a clean competition between athletes.”

Jose Aldo steps into the octagon at UFC 189 to defend his UFC Featherweight Championship against Conor McGregor. Who do you think will walk out with the gold? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
