Al Iaquinta utilized some good head movement and fancy footwork early to begin outpointing his opponent Ross Pearson. Both men were happy to strike in round one. Pearson landed some solid kicks while Iaquinta was landing with a quick jab. Iaquinta began circling, forcing Pearson to chase him down which left him exposed. Iaquinta would capitalize by scoring a sharp lead right followed by a body jab to close out round one.
Both fighters would start round two throwing heavy leather. Eventually, Al Iaquinta would land a right hand that dropped Pearson. The feisty Brit was able to get to his feet, but on wobbly legs. Iaquinta closed the distance and started landing bombs. Pearson tried to weather the storm but eventually hit the canvas which prompted the referee to stop the contest.
Huge win for Iaquinta down under in Sydney.
