UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk won in dominate fashion at UFC Fight Night: Berlin, when she destroyed Jessica Penne and got the TKO win in round 3, but she suffered an injury in the process.

The champ broke her right thumb during the fight, probably from landing so many punches to Penne’s face, and will now need to undergo surgery.

The news was confirmed on this weeks episode of UFC Tonight. Joanna was seen in a cast following her victory, but it was unknown as to if it would require surgery. Now we know it will. This probably isn’t the worst thing to happen to Joanna, who said that she wants to take a little break before fighting one more time this year.
