Dong Hyun Kim WINS

Josh Burkman and Dong Hyun Kim came out for the third fight on the FOX Sports 1 prelims.

Burkman landed a leg kick early, Kim looked to move in for a takedown, but failed. Burkman managed to clinch Kim on the cage, but Kim reversed position and tried to drag Burkman to the ground. Burkman defended and took the front position against the cage. Again, Kim reversed and moved to the back of Burkman, standing. He jumped on Burkman’s back, both men leaning on the cage. He stayed on the back of Burkman and looked to lock up a rear naked choke. He let go, and jumped off of Burkman’s back. He still had the clinch from the back and controlled Burkman against the cage. The round ended, it most likely went to Kim.

Kim came out in the second, and threw two front kicks. Kim tripped at one point and Burkman landed a few big punches. Burkman then looked for a takedown. He shot in for a double and pushed Kim to the cage. Kim used his grappling skills to reverse and took Burkman down. With Burkman in the turtle position, Kim began teeing off with short punches to the head. Kim trapped one of Burkman’s arms and threw a ton of punches and elbows to the head. Kim was able to control Burkman here until there was about 5 seconds left in the round. Then they stood up and the round ended.

The the third opened with a big body kick from Burkman, who then landed a huge shot that wobbled Kim. Burkman rushed in with a flurry. Kim was able to recover and then took Burkman down, ending up in side control. Kim started moving in for an arm triangle. He seems to lock it up. Burkman did his best to defend it and make space with his arm, but he eventually went to sleep.
