UFC 184’s main card just kicked off with lightweights Tony Ferguson and Gleison Tibau. Ferguson (18-3) came in with a 4 fight win streak, while Tibau (40-10) carried a 2 fight win streak into the octagon. An interesting note: the last loss for both fighters came against Michael Johnson.

Early in the first Tibau threw up a big head kick but slipped and fell. Ferguson landed several nice leg kicks. Tibau threw a lazy body kick and Ferguson caught it and connected with a punch that dropped Tibau. The fighters returned to their feet but not long after Ferguson again had Tibau down, this time trying to lock up a front choke. Tibau fought it off but ended up losing his back t Ferguson who worked quickly to lock up the rear naked choke. That was an impressive win for Ferguson who is now on a 5 fight win streak.

Results: Ferguson wins via submission (RNC) at 2:37 of round 1
