Jordan Mein did a fantastic job in the opening round at controlling the fight and dictating where the action went. Alves looked to be in trouble multiple times throughout the round as he got rocked with punches and elbows, but Mein could not stop the fight in the first.
Mein opened the second round with a somersault in the middle of the octagon to show how confident he was with his performance. In the next exchange, Alves landed a body shot that drove the air right out of Mein’s body. After Mein dropped to one knee, Alves charged him and blasted him with several unprotected blows which forced referee Herb Dean to step in and call the fight off.
