UFC 179 Results: Magny Gets 5th Win of 2014 with Victory Over Macario

Neil Magny earned his fifth victory of the year with his technical knockout win against William Macario. This was the final preliminary fight of the night on Fox Sports 1.

Macario was in full control of the first round and outstruck Magny. Magny was patient in his approach, however, and stuck to his strategy which benefited him in the long run.

Magny took some punishment in the opening round, but he rode top control in the second and third rounds to take control of the fight. Macario eventually couldn’t keep up with Magny’s pace and succumbed to strikes in the final round.

After the bout, Neil Magny stated he wanted to fight in two weeks!
